John Moses Browning

Browning's contributions to firearms design spanned a wide range of firearm types, including handguns, rifles, and machine guns. Some of his most notable inventions and designs include:

  1. Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR): The BAR, developed in the early 20th century, was one of the first successful semi-automatic rifles. It saw extensive use by the U.S. military during both World Wars.

  2. M1911 Pistol: Browning designed the iconic M1911 semi-automatic pistol, which became the standard sidearm of the U.S. military from 1911 until it was replaced by the M9 pistol in the 1980s. The M1911 is renowned for its reliability, ergonomics, and influence on modern pistol design.

  3. Browning Hi-Power: The Browning Hi-Power, also known as the P-35, is a semi-automatic pistol that is still in use today by military and law enforcement forces around the world. It was one of the first successful high-capacity semi-automatic pistols.
